Thermacore® Model 5740 features premium insulation construction and design, which provides maximum thermal efficiency and reduced air infiltration for your garage space. This durable line of garage doors gives you many years of reliable operation while providing comfort and beauty to your home, even in extreme climates.
Thermacore® WindStorm™ Model 5745 is a premium insulated garage door designed for both beauty and strength to help protect your home against the damaging effects of hurricane-force winds.
Thermacore® Model 5740
Thermacore® construction:
Foamed-in-place, CFC-free polyurethane insulation sandwiched between two layers of corrosion-resistant steel helps control costly heat loss and gain. Thermacore® Model 5740 has a U-factor* of 0.15 and an R-value** of 12.76.
Polyurethane Garage Door Insulation:
Provides thermal efficiency:
- U-factor* of .15 (12.76 R-value**): Model 5740
*U-factor values are independently tested and verified per ANSI/DASMA 105.
**Overhead Door™ Brand uses a calculated door section R-value for our insulated doors.
Durable Finish: The interior-side hot-dipped galvanized steel backing, with two coats of baked-on polyester paint, provides strength and a finished clean appearance.
Thermal Seals: Innovative in-between section thermal seals provide an air infiltration rating as low as .08 cfm and help to provide superior resistance to the elements.
Bottom Weatherseal: This bulb-type weatherseal guards against wind and rain while providing a cushion when closing.
Thermacore® WindStorm™ Model 5745
Reinforced Hardware: Located throughout the door − for a true wind load-rated system.
Heavy Gauge Steel End Caps: Provides a better appearance and improved strength and protects the insulation from damage.
In-between Section Thermal Seals: Snug-fitting tongue-and-groove section joints reduce wind and weather from entering the garage
tringently Tested: Meets Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) and Florida Building Code (FBC) requirements and has Miami-Dade approvals for use in Florida’s High Velocity Hurricane Zone (HVHZ).
Strength, Durability, and Thermal Efficiency: Three-layer construction provides a continuous layer of foamed-in-place CFC-free polyurethane insulation between two layers of corrosion-resistant steel. Windstorm Model 5745 has a U-factor* of 0.13 and an R-value** of 12.12
Overhead Door™ Brand participates in the DASMA Thermal Performance Verification Program. The program verifies the thermal performance of sectional doors. The lower the U-factor rating, the better the thermal performance.

Optional window placement for all models:
On Models 5740 and 5760, windows may be arranged vertically or horizontally. They must be Clear, Short, Clear, Long, or Narrow. Windows placed in the bottom section of a door must have DSB 1/8″, tempered, or 1/2″ insulated glass.
